My heart and soul will always belong to the Caribbean, where my roots run deep and the ocean and white and black sand beaches have captured my spirit.
BUT… when your pockets only go so deep, I must say there is some (and i emphasize on the some) parts of the U.S.A that has beautiful sun, palm trees that will make you feel like that Caribbean vacation isn’t so far away.
Visiting California is always a pleasure, especially coming from toronto where it feels like summer will leave your ass stranded like an ex- boyfriend at any time! Although this wasn’t my first trip there, it was a completely different experience. I was privileged enough to see more culture and character this time around, visiting New port beach wasn’t all glamour. It definitely had that surfer laid back feel but the highlight was definitely driving a whole hour in traffic to Venice Beach, where all the real fun was!
Venice beach is one of those places you have to visit at least once in your life, there is so much cultures compacted into one are you literally don’t know what to look at first! There’s basketball tournaments going on, photo-shoot’s, graffiti artist doing their thing, skateboarding, circus acts, incredible food & deserts left right and centre, and oh yeah.. The beach!
You cannot help but to be happy and inspired in a place like that, but i guess that’s why it’s so popular.
